Botany
The International Botanical Congress is a meeting of botanists starting in 1900, held every five to six years. They meet to discuss new botanical findings, conservation, and plant naming and categorizing system – among other things. The second set of four stamps on this album page were to commemorate the congress meeting in 1969 in the U.S., in Seattle, Washington.
At that particular conference, the International Association of Bryologists was founded. That relates to bryology, a plant life that’s always been of interest to me. It also includes lichenology. Both include studying ancient and extremely small plant life. There’s something about those plants and the like that have fascinated me.
Note
This page is a little sparse. They could have put more stamps on the page by putting one block of four on the next page, and mixed some of the single stamps from that page with this one. I could do that, redesign these two pages. But as I’ve said before, I’m worn out from making pages for my Italian colony and occupation albums.
Contains 8 spots: own 8 – 8 unused, 0 used.
Page is finished.
