U.N. Associates

U.N. New York, Page 96.1 (BL-1)

The stamp at the bottom of this page commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of the World Federation of United Nations Associations. The Federation is composed of about a hundred U.N. Associations, which are national non-governmental organizations that involve the public in supporting and promoting the United Nations and its iniatives, globally and locally.

A U.N. Association is one way the average person can be part of the U.N. There are a variety of activities, meetings, and educational programs for adults and young people. My step-daughter participated each year through her high school in the Model United Nations in Geneva. She enjoyed it very much.

Note

These stamps are a little sappy, not very well designed. They’re mostly taken from art work by children. Except for the last one, they aren’t for a specific U.N. program or agency. It’s like they’re feel good stamps. I don’t like them.

Contains 9 spots: own 9 – 9 unused, 0 used.
