Pictorial Definitives
This set of stamps, which was printed a few times and can be seen on other pages of this album, contains images of sites in Somalia. Besides the ones of an ostrich, a lion, a hippopotomas, and a termite mound, there are some key buildings.
Some of the stamps show the Governor’s Palace in Mogasishu, which was also a government administration building. Some show the Almnara tower, which translates to lighthouse. Related to that are the stamps of the lighthouse at Cape Guardafui, which is a the tip of the Horn of Africa – at the end of the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean.
Note
These definitives are a little pricey. I haven’t seen the whole set or a sub-set of them for sale yet. I’ve only been able to buy them individually, not in a set. The prices vary from about four euros to fifty euros each. When they’re sold like this, I’m not always sure how to proceed – I’m not confident the prices I’m seeing are fair. It takes me a while to get familiar with the pricing and what to expect. As a result, my progress is slow on a page of stamps like these.
Contains 18 spots: own 13 – 10 unused, 3 used.

To search by catalog number, go to the search box and enter it in the catalog number box. However, it’s a bit broken; I need to fix it.
