Intl. Reconstruction Bank
The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development is part of the World Bank. It loans money to member states, specifically middle-income developing countries. For poorer countries, the International Development Association of the World Bank lends and grants money to them.
The IBRD was particular instrumental in the reconstruction of Europe and Asia after World War II, providing funds for infrastructure, education, health care, sanitation, as well as food crops and water purification.
Note
These stamps have a fairly simple design and are colorful. Like the ones printed in the U.S. at this time, they’re starting to issue multi-color stamps. I particularly like the one in the middle of the third row showing several flags. It’s a modern design without much detail, but it’s still nice looking because it’s so colorful.
Contains 11 spots: own 11 – 11 unused, 0 used.
