This page includes one advertisement for Singer sewing machines. It’s one of the cheapest ones. Maybe because it was popular and there are plenty of them available for sale. The last one is an interesting one: it’s advertising Baci chocolates. The word baci means kisses. It seems this one and the other one next to it (i.e., Columbia) were never issued. I’m not sure why. Perhaps the program was canceled before they could be sold. It was the third one issued for Columbia, but the only one for Baci.
Note
On the previous page, there is another page of these publicity stamps, which is a bizzare concept to me coming from the U.S. where no such promotion is legal. I’m making slow progress on getting these. Most of them are very costly. I’ve been buying them one at a time when I find a moderately inexpesive one.
Some of the ones I’m missing, though, are very expensive: a few hundred euros each. I can’t see paying that much for a stamp. I could buy them used, canceled. But I’m trying to have all unused. Still, there are some stamps that I have to accepted that a clean used version is all I will get. An example of this is the Parmeggiani (1927, Sassone 242). Unused it would cost about € 20,000. Canceled, it costs from a few euros to a hundred, depending on whether the cancelation is clean and from a much sought city for this issue (e.g., Catania).
Contains 10 spots: own 5 – 5 unused, 0 used.
