Elephants & Lions
To promote and encourage the colonization of Africa, the African Society of Italy (Società Africana d’Italia), the Italian Colonial Institute (Istituto Coloniale Italiano ), and the Italian Geographical Society (Società Geografica Italiana) and other organizations sought to educate the Italian public about Africa and its uniqueness. African elephants and lions are something particularly fascinating to Italians since they don’t naturally exist on the Italian peninsula.
Note
When I designed this album pages, I didn’t quite understand the difference between the two sets on this page. I thought like most in other series, it was the perforation. In this case, I seem to have been mistaken. I can relabel them easily on this web page, but on the printed page it’s not as easy to make changes. For the bottom set, I have that they have a perforation of 12. That’s not correct. They’re actually 14.
Contains 14 spots: own 14 – 14 unused, 0 used.
Page is finished.
