World Heritage
World Heritage Sites are cultural, historical, or scientific significance, places considered of outstanding value to humanity and that need to be preserved for future generations.
To be classified as a World Heritage Site, a member state needs to register it with the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), a specialized agency of the United Nations.
If a site is approved, it will be given funding for maintaining, as well as legal protection under international treaties. Generally, UNESCO sites become tourist destinations and bring in significant revenues for the member state.
The stamps on the first three rows depict six UNESCO World Heritage Sites, all of them in Australia.
Note
The stamps from the second and third rows came from a nice brochure booklet. I felt bad removing them from the booklet. I may scan the booklet and post it here. I probably should have done that before I removed the stamps. I could post them like I do first-day covers for some U.N. stamps.
Contains 10 spots: own 10 – 10 unused, 0 used.

To search by catalog number, go to the search box and enter it in the catalog number box. However, it’s a bit broken; I need to fix it.
