The stamp at the top of this album page commemorates the U.N. Conference on Trade and Development, an agency of the U.N.. Formed in 1964, the U.N. Trade and Development agency works with non-governmental organizations to promote and develop trade amongst countries, particularly in developing countries. It’s purview includes all aspects of development: aid, finances, trade, transport, and technology. It was formed because the main financial institutions related to the U.N. – the Internanntional Monetary Fund and the World Bank – were not suited to assist under developed countries.
Incidentally, in the early years, the U.N. Trade & Development was closely involved with the New International Economic Order (see New Economic Order) until it fell out of favor.
Note
I like the colorful stamp on the middle of this album page. It’s meant to commemorate the World Federation of United Nations Associations. See the U.N. Associates page in the New York album.
Contains 7 spots: own 7 – 7 unused, 0 used.

To search by catalog number, go to the search box and enter it in the catalog number box. However, it’s a bit broken; I need to fix it.
