Triennale
In May 1940, the first Triennial Exhibition of Italian Overseas Lands was held in Naples. It was said to be “…a panoramic and synthetic review of the realizations of the Italian value and work in Africa … that will document the whole complex of political, social, economic, cultural activities, with which Fascist Italy is preparing to make the Overseas Lands a lush source of well-being and power of the Homeland”.
It was basically propaganda about the policies of the Kingdom in the colonies and occupations in Africa and the Aegean Islands. The goal was to present them as part of the Kingdom – historically, economically, and socially. You can read more about this on the Archive of the Sciences site.
The stamps on this page were issued to commemorate that tri-annual exhibition. I’m not sure, but I think similar stamps were issued in colonies. I haven’t gotten around to checking yet.
Note
This page is complete. I might redo the layout, though, and reprint the page. I think the first and last stamp on the top row might look better lower, with their bottoms level with the bottom of the horizontal blue stamp.
Contains 11 spots: own 11 – 11 unused, 0 used.
Page is finished.

Amt. is an abbreviation for the face amount of the stamp.

To search by catalog number, go to the search box and enter it in the catalog number box. However, it’s a bit broken; I need to fix it.
