The U.N. Economic & Social Commmision. The ECOSOC is a forum for talks related to international economic and social issues, including recommending U.N. policies in this area. It has five regional commissions for the particulars of key parts of the world. The two stamps on the third row are meant to raise awareness of it.
The Commmission overall has several commissions under it, such as one on narccotics, another crime prevention and criminal justice, another on population and development, etc. It also has a forum on forests. I believe that’s related to the stamps on the Save Forests page.
Note
The last stamp on the second row on this album page was issued in celebration of the New International Economic Order. There’s an interesting story behind it. Be sure to read about it on the New Economic Order page.
The two stamps on the bottom row commemorate the thirty-fifth annniversary of the U.N. There’s a matching souvenir sheet on the next page. There you’ll find more on the anniversary.
Contains 9 spots: own 9 – 9 unused, 0 used.
