Colonial Art
These stamps were commemorating the International Colonial Art Show that was held in Naples from October 1, 1934 to January 31, 1935. It was an art exhibition of art work showing the Italian colonization of Africa, which included Venetian paintings from the 15th Century. It’s purpose was to promote the idea that Italy having colonies in Africa has been around a long time and only natural.
The exhibition was held in Naples because the African Society of Italy (Società Africana d’Italia) was based in Naples and they sponsored it. Plus, the local government sought to promote Naples as the primary port for trade with the Italian colonies in Africa.
Note
This page is complete. I have all of the stamps and added text describing them – at least what the commemorate, but not the images. As I mentioned elsewhere, I don’t like these large images. I’m thinking about separating them between two pages, with other stamps on those new pages.
Contains 12 spots: own 12 – 12 unused, 0 used.
Page is finished.

To search by catalog number, go to the search box and enter it in the catalog number box. However, it’s a bit broken; I need to fix it.
