45th Anniversary
This souvenir sheet was issued to celebrate the forty-fifth anniversary of the United Nations. Only two countries became members of the United Nations since the last souvenir sheet was issued in October 1990 for the fortieth anniversary. There was the small city state or principality, Liechtenstein and the new African country, Namibia.
Note
This souvenir sheet was issued in June 1990, instead of in October as previous ones. But it’s still in celebration of the forty-fifth anniversary that the U.N. Charter took effect, which was in October of the same year. I like the colorfulness of these stamps – not so much the background of the souvenir sheet. It’s a little drab.
