Live in Peace
The text on the stamp at the top of this album page says, à vivre en paix l’un avec l’autre. In English, it says, to live in peace with each other. That’s a quote from the Preamble of the U.N. Charter. Here’s an excerpt from the Preamble containing that quote:
U.N. Charter Preamble
We the peoples of the United Nations determined to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war and to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person… [For] these ends to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours…
To read the full Preamble, go to U.N. Charter in the New York album. It’s worth reading.
Note
The two outer stamps on the third row commemorate the International Civil Aviation Organization. See the Intl. Civil Aviation Org. page in the New York album for information on it. The stamp in the middle of that same row was published to celebrate the liberation of Namibia. See the Namibia page in this album for more on Namibia.
Contains 9 spots: own 9 – 9 unused, 0 used.
