Postage Due
The top five stamps on this page seems to be the basic crest for Rhodes. However, it may be representative of the cross or crest of the Knights Templar. After having been driven out of Jerusalem at some point, they based themselves from 1310 to 1522 in Rhodes.
The four stamps on the bottom row are of a rose plant or flower. As mentioned in the previous page on postage due stamps, the word Rhodes in ancient Greek meant pomegranate, but later came to mean rose. I’ve seen this style of drawing the rose plant, almost thistle like on stove carvings of the crests associated with Rhodes. It may be both for the island and for a particular order of knights, as well.
Note
As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, for these album pages, the ones for Italian colony stamps, Leuchtturn (i.e., Lighthouse) doesn’t make album pages. Since I want my pages and album binders to be the same, I buy blank pages from Leuchtturm and design my own pages in Adobe Photoshop and print them on a Canon Pixma Pro-10S printer.
It’s easier to design these pages when I have the stamps. I made this page before I owned the stamps. They’re much smaller than I realized. That’s why the frame for each is too large. I might change the layout for this page and reprint it.
Contains 9 spots: own 9 – 9 unused, 0 used.

Amt. is an abbreviation for the face amount of the stamp.

To search by catalog number, go to the search box and enter it in the catalog number box. However, it’s a bit broken; I need to fix it.
