Intl. Labor Organization
The International Labour Organization (i.e., ILO) was created in October 1919 by the League of Nations – the predecessor to the U.N. It became an agency of the U.N. when it was formed. It’s headquarters are located in Geneva, Switzerland. The ILO is also a member of the U.N. Development Group.
The ILO’s purpose is to advance social and economic justice through international labour standards. Almost all U.N. member states are also members of the ILO. Only about six are not. They’re mostly small city states, along with North Korea.
Note
There are two stamps on this page celebrating the ILO: the two on the third row, depicting the U.N. emblem behind an anvil. I don’t have them yet, but I’ve ordered them from a dealer in New York. Hopefully, I will soon have them.
Contains 10 spots: own 10 – 10 unused, 0 used.
