Special Arrows
These two stamps were designed by Norman Ives, a graphic designer from Conneticutt. He was also a professor at Yale University School of Art. Ives’ style is referred to as mid-modernist of mid-century modern. His art work is on display in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, along with a few other famous art museums.
The stamps are a simple design consisting of three triangles and two rectangles to form two arrows with the colors and negative space.
Note
I don’t particular appreciate the design of these stamps. I’ve never been on for modern design like this, either the use of text or shapes in simple ways to present secondary images and illicit emotions. I do like some modern art, but have never been much for this kind of graphic design.
